When misanthrope Ao discovers her pit bull Taika standing over the mauled body of her father, she is faced with an impossible choice. Unwilling to lose both her beloved father and her devoted pet, Ao embraces Taika after her mother has him humanized and even takes the newly transformed dogperson to school.

At school, Taika meets Tsunayoshi, a German shepherd and elite police officer who begins teaching him how to leave his canine behaviours behind and adopt human customs.
