The thin red line! Few military sights are as iconic as the steady advance of Her Majestys line regiments, redcoats dressed in splendour, marching unflinching towards the enemy. During the Crimean War, over fifty British line regiments served in the campaign, and their discipline and endurance became legendary.

Though many of the soldiers had enlisted to escape poverty or prison, they proved their worth on the battlefield. At Alma, Sevastopol, and Inkerman, the British infantry stood firm against immense odds, fighting with courage and determination despite poor leadership, harsh conditions, and rampant disease. The Crimean War has been described both as the first modern war and the last old-fashioned one where officers who had fought at Waterloo led their men into fire and smoke.

This comprehensive starter army provides everything needed to field a British force for Black Powder Crimean War games. Combining hard plastic infantry
